Happy New Year, Friends, The turn of the year reminds me that there’s so much good work to do --so much to learn and so much to share. I hope you’ll take time to try something new or visit somewhere you’ve never been this year. I’m wishing you the best in your journey, wherever life takes you. May you feel loved and able to broaden your capacity to love. The studio mission remains the same as when we started in 2015: to provide a place for people to come together and share inspirations, learn something new, and take their experience into the world to make it a better place. Can learning pottery change the world? I think when we try new things, take chances and engage in small acts of bravery we give each other courage, and this small change in us effects us and those we touch. So, yes, I think learning pottery can change the world. I’d like to invite you to take a class, join a retreat, or participate in a wood fire with me in 2023. Get in touch if you’d like to learn more about these opportunities. I’d also like to welcome Julia Duva to the studio. Julia is joining me from Bennington College. They’ll be here for 6 weeks beginning today. We have a full schedule of projects planned for our time together. I’m super excited to be hosting Julia through the Bennington Field Work Term program. I know we'll both benefit and learn so much from each other over the next six weeks. (see our first day of school pic below) As always, the shop and studio are open by appointment. I’d love to see you. All the best always, Jackie Upcoming schedules Please visit the LEARN POTTERY page to join. March Retreat Private lessons 2.5 hour classesby appointment Enjoy 2.5 hrs in the pottery studio learning how to throw pottery and/or hand build with clay. This is a lovely introduction to learning the craft of pottery making. We will start with a studio tour and familiarize ourselves with a bit of history, the tools necessary for making pottery, and then an introduction to centering on the pottery wheel... or engage with a hand building project. I love to see the expression on student's faces when they make a connection with their creative selves; a connection they have never experienced or had forgotten. I believe we can heal the world through these experiences. See the guesthouse page for information on weekend (or longer) retreats, which can include classes in the pottery studio.
